The Service Bulletin provides instructions on addressing a condition where the charge port door on Model 3 and Model Y vehicles protrudes in comparison to the LH taillight assembly.

Correction Procedure:

Inspect the vehicle for symptoms related to the condition. If symptoms are present, adjust the charge port sheet metal to reduce the overflush.

Procedure Steps:

1. Check the overflush using a gap and flush tool.

2. If the overflush is greater than 1.5 mm, continue to step 3.

3. Remove the charge port door assembly, lay a straight edge, and press the weld tab into the body.

4. Apply tape to the upper and lower rear corners.

5. Adjust the sheet metal using a PDR charge port knockdown kit or a dead blow hammer and HV battery handle.

6. Measure the overflush again, and repeat steps 3-5 until both locations are within specification.

7. Remove the tape, clean any paint damage, and apply touch-up paint if necessary.

8. Install the charge port door assembly, and install new gaskets onto the taillight.
