This Technical Service Bulletin provides updates for the Audi R8 Coupe and Spyder vehicles with a 5.2L FSI engine, manufactured between 2011 and 2014. The update installs revised diagnostic capability for the engine control unit to prevent the “2424” condition.
Update Requirements:
Software Update:
Perform a software update for the engine control module (ECM) using the ODIS system and the Flash -> SVM code 24Z4AO01.
Test Drive:
Conduct a 20-minute test drive under various conditions, including acceleration and deceleration phases, to ensure the update is installed correctly.
Fuel Pump Replacement:
Replace the high-pressure fuel pumps if the engine management warning lamp (EPC) lights up and fault code “P31OA – Fuel low pressure regulation; fuel pressure fluctuating” appears in the event memory.
Warranty and Reimbursement:
The update is covered under warranty and reimbursement claims will only be paid for vehicles that show the 2424 code in the Elsa Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
