Remote Function Actuator Locks Up and Requires Hard Reset

The passive unlock/lock function is inoperative, and the engine does not start. The Remote Function Actuator (RFA) may enter a locked state, preventing communication with the Body Control Module (BCM).

Cause:

The RFA can enter a locked state and will not communicate on the medium speed bus.

Action:

Follow the Service Instruction below to replace the RFA and re-establish communications between the modules.

Important: ALL vehicle keys are required prior to replacing the RFA.
