Situation and Cause of the Problem

The front and/or rear Parking Aid system may be inoperative due to a corroded wiring harness at the front and/or rear bumper harnesses.

Service Instruction Instructions

FOLLOW THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE INSTRUCTION A or B OUTLINED BELOW:

Note: Prior to performing the Service Instruction, corroded or damaged wires in the front and/or rear bumper harness must be repaired using the harness repair kit.

Service Instruction A

Remove the front bumper cover to expose the complete wiring harness.

Locate the front Parking Aid system sensor wiring harness.

Install the front bumper wiring harness protective sleeve to the front Parking Aid system sensor harness on both sides of the securing clip.

Make sure the protective sleeve is minimum of 30mm from the electrical connector.

Use suitable tape to secure the end of the protective sleeve to the front Parking Aid system sensor wiring harness.

Wrap the main connector wiring harness in the 4.Smm protective sleeve.

Service Instruction B

Repeat the procedure on all front Parking Aid system sensors.

Repeat the procedure on all front bumper wiring harness joints where the protective sleeve is installed.

Repeat the procedure on all front Parking Aid system sensors.

Important Notes:

There must be a minimum of 30mm between the electrical connector and the protective sleeve.

After installation, the protective sleeve must be Spiral taped, not fully taped.
