Condition Summary
A ‘Transmission Fault-Traction Reduced’ message may be displayed in the Message Center, and Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1889-14 P0961-62 may be stored in the Rear Differential Control Module (RDCM).
Cause
This may be caused by the Rear Differential Control Module (RDCM) diagnostic function being too sensitive, leading to the false detection of open circuits or sticking valves in the Active On-Demand Coupling assembly.
Action
Should the customer express this concern, follow the Service Instruction outlined below:
Tools Required: IDS with latest IDS-DVD and Calibration File; Jaguar Land Rover-approved Midtronics battery power supply
Service Instruction: Configure rear differential control module and re-read DTCs, and carry out road test and re-read DTCs if necessary.
