Special Coverage Adjustment for Loss of Power Steering Assist
The bulletin describes a service procedure for diagnosing and repairing a power steering pump wear condition that can cause loss of steering assist in certain model year Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn OUTLOOK vehicles.
The condition is characterized by an intermittent drop in power steering hydraulic pressure, causing reduced or loss of steering assist, which may require greater driver effort, particularly at low vehicle speeds.
Special Coverage Details
The special coverage covers the condition for a period of 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.
The repairs include flushing the power steering system, replacing the power steering pump, and installing a new steering gear valve housing, all of which will be made at no charge to the customer.
Dealerships must check the Vehicle Identification Number to confirm vehicle involvement prior to beginning any required inspections or repairs.
