This special coverage is for 2017-2018 model year Buick Encore and Chevrolet Sonic/Trax vehicles equipped with a 1.4L Turbo Gas engine.
The turbocharger may fail, causing the Malfunction Indicator Light to illuminate and a diagnostic trouble code to set. The engine may also run rough or have reduced power.
What to Do
If you believe your vehicle has this condition, contact your GM dealer to schedule a repair. The condition will be repaired at no charge within 10 years or 120,000 miles of the original service date.
If you’ve already paid for repairs, you may be eligible for reimbursement. Complete the enclosed reimbursement form and present it to your dealer with required documents by March 31, 2025.
