Special Coverage Adjustment 18226

This bulletin is being revised to update the service procedure for the overheating of fuel relay or motor terminal on 2008-2011 Buick Lucerne and 2009-2011 Cadillac DTS vehicles.

Condition

The rear-seat bracket may contact the Rear Electrical Center (REC), causing damage to electrical components, which can lead to overheating, melting, or a no-start condition.

Coverage

This special coverage covers the condition for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service.

Correction

Dealers are to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rear electrical center (REC) and trim the rear seat bracket (Lucerne only). Additional repairs to the fuel pump relay wiring may be required.
