This document provides information on the Metal Bellows Accumulator Retrofit for McLaren 720s Coupe and Spider vehicles built before May 2021.
Parts Information
New accumulators, bolts, and software have been released to update the suspension accumulators, which will increase longevity compared to the earlier membrane accumulators.
Procedure
The retrofit requires technicians to follow specific Service Information System (SIS) instructions and update the vehicle software. The vehicle must have either four of the earlier membrane accumulators or four of the new metal bellows accumulators installed. A mixture of the two is not permissible.
The bulletin also includes repair advice for customers experiencing issues with suspension accumulator failure.
This retrofit is applicable to McLaren 720s Coupe and Spider vehicles built before May 2021, as post-May 2021 vehicles already have the updated metal bellows accumulators.
