Preliminary Information

This service bulletin provides information on the use of high performance high temperature brake fluid during track use for certain GM models. It addresses customer inquiries about the use of this type of brake fluid and provides recommendations for its use.

Models Affected

The following models are affected by this bulletin: 2009-2015 Cadillac CTS-V, 2014-2016 Cadillac CTS Sedan V-Sport; XTS V-Sport, 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, ATS-V, XTS V-Sport, 2009-2016 Chevrolet Corvette, 2010-2016 Chevrolet Camaro, and 2014-2016 Chevrolet SS.

It is recommended that the brake fluid be replaced with a high performance brake fluid that has a dry boiling point greater than 534°F (279°C) for racing or competitive driving. After conversion to the high performance brake fluid, follow the brake fluid service recommendations outlined by the fluid manufacturer.

Important: Do not use silicone or DOT 5 brake fluids, and always flush the high performance brake fluid back out of the system when returning to public roads.
