Service Action for Improving Transmission Control Module (TCM) Logic and Replacing Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT)
A Service Action has been implemented to improve the TCM logic and replace the IVT on 2019-2021 MY vehicles that exhibit a MIL with the DTC(s) listed below:
- P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio
- P0731 Gear Incorrect Ratio
- P0741 Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off
- P0867 Transmission fluid pressure
The service action includes a procedure to improve the TCM logic and replace the IVT assembly. The procedure involves using the KDS ECU Upgrade function and verifying the ROM ID using the table on page 4.
Before conducting the procedure, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs and that the latest reflash has been applied. The procedure may require multiple attempts to complete the adaptive values learning procedure.
A fully charged battery is necessary before ECU upgrade can take place, and ensure the KDS or GDS is sufficiently charged prior to reflash. A warning: do not start the engine during ECU upgrade or turn the ignition key ‘OFF’ or interrupt the power supply during ECU upgrade.
