The Story of Rolls-Royce
The story of Rolls-Royce is the story of two men, Frederick Henry Royce and Charles Stewart Rolls, who shared a single ideal – the perfection of the motor car.
Royce, born in 1863, was a brilliant engineer who redesigned parts to improve the motor car. Rolls, born in 1877, was a talented motorist who made motor cars his business.
The Birth of Rolls-Royce
In 1904, the first Royce car was built, which was revolutionary for its silence and engineering dependability. Rolls drove the car and knew his search for the perfect car was over.
The partnership between Royce and Rolls led to the creation of the Rolls-Royce brand, with the first car being the 10hp, perfected from the early Royce model.
