Vehicle Inspection and Preparation for Repair

The vehicle must be within specific ranges and have an OPEN SSPDZ campaign in eMDCS. Verify the vehicle identification number (VIN) and production date range.

Important Notes

Only vehicles in the specified range with an “Open” status in eMDCS are affected. If the vehicle does not have an OPEN SSPDZ campaign, return the vehicle to the customer or inventory.

A technician with a certification level of Certified or above is required to perform the repair.

Clear any DTC’s (diagnose and repair) before performing any campaign repair.

Repair Procedure

Reprogram the Body Control Module (BCM) and Vehicle Control Module (VCM) software using MDARS.

Perform Collect Diagnostic Information (ODR upload) and DTC inspection.

Complete a label and apply it to the vehicle’s hood with the repair date and dealer code from eMDCS Warranty Inquiry.
