Hybrid System Safety
High-voltage components are clearly marked with warning labels and must be handled correctly to avoid serious or fatal injury from electric shock.
The high-voltage battery must not be damaged or opened, and undamaged plugs, cables, and sockets in the on-board high-voltage system are safe to touch.
Accident Procedures
In the event of an accident, the high-voltage system switches off automatically if airbags and seat belt pre-tensioners are activated.
If not activated, follow steps to switch off the engine and safety systems: switch ignition key to “OFF”, disconnect the 12-volt battery, or unplug the 12-volt connector in the luggage compartment.
