Program Overview
The program is designed to upgrade certain OnStar Analog/Digital-Ready systems to OnStar Generation 6 Digital-Capable systems.
Eligible vehicles are listed in the bulletin, including Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, HUMMER, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Saturn models from 2000 to 2005.
Upgrade Procedure
The upgrade process involves replacing the existing OnStar Vehicle Communication Interface Module (VCIM) with a digitally capable VCIM.
The procedure includes removing the existing analog OnStar antenna mast and replacing it with a digital-capable antenna mast, as well as configuring the new OnStar system using the Tech2 and TISZWEB applications.
Dealers are required to follow the procedure carefully to ensure proper activation and enrollment of the new OnStar system.
