Recall Information

This recall report is for Chrysler’s Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles equipped with manual transmissions produced between August 2017 and February 2023. The recall is due to a potential defect in the clutch intermediate pressure plate, which may cause it to fracture during extreme overheating, leading to a fire risk.

Defect Description

The clutch pressure plate may become overheated through friction, leading to rapid fracture. This may result in cracks or holes in the transmission case, allowing heated debris to be expelled and potentially leading to a fire.

Remedy

Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles, with the remedy currently under development. Owners will be notified by the company and will need to provide proof of payment for any repairs made prior to the recall.
