Nissan is extending the warranty coverage on Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) for specific models and years.

Impact: Warranty coverage will be extended for 24 months/24,000 miles, whichever occurs first, for the affected CVT components.

Dealers’ Responsibilities:

Dealers are required to:

  • Verify warranty coverage for each vehicle entering the service department
  • Provide owners with diagnostic charges if necessary
  • Use the appropriate Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) and/or Electronic Service Manual (ESM) to diagnose the root cause of the customer concern and identify the correct repair
  • Submit claims using the appropriate claims coding provided and release the vehicle

Training:

Dealers are required to take the CVT Warranty Extension and Customer Care e-learning course available on Nissan’s Virtual Academy.

This warranty extension aims to assure customer satisfaction and demonstrate confidence in CVT technology, as well as address customer concerns including those expressed through litigation.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your authorized Nissan dealer or the Warranty Claims Call Center at 1-800-258-7008, Option 7.
