Mercedes-Benz AG is extending the warranty coverage on the catalytic converter system in certain Model Year vehicles fitted with the M278 8-cylinder engine.

Affected Models

The extended warranty applies to the following models: CL-Class (2011-2014), CLS-Class (2012-2018), E-Class (2012-2017), S-Class (2012-2017), and SL-Class (2013-2020).

Conditions and Repairs

The warranty covers repairs or replacements of the catalytic converter system related to sulfur contamination in the catalyst, which may cause a check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to illuminate.

Repairs must have a quick test uploaded with fault code information and may be audited.
