Important Information
The McLaren 650S uses a Lithium-ion start battery that can discharge over time if not driven for extended periods.
A Trickle or ‘Maintenance’ charger is included with the vehicle and is the only factory-approved charger for use on the 650S.
Charging the Battery
Locate the charger in the front cargo area in a white box or black nylon storage bag with a McLaren logo.
Plug the 12-volt supply cord into the receptacle on the car and the charger into the wall socket.
If the battery falls below a certain threshold, it will go into “sleep mode” and need to be “waken up” by pressing and holding the Reset button on the charger for 5 seconds.
Monitor the State of Charge in the left-hand display of the instrument cluster or on the charger.
