History of Maserati

Maserati was founded on December 1st, 1914, by Alfieri, Ernesto, and Ettore Maserati in Bologna. The company started by modifying Isotta Fraschinis for competitions and later produced its own racing car, the Maserati Tipo 26, which won its class in the Targa Florio in 1926.

In the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, Maserati enjoyed success on the racetrack, with wins including two Indianapolis 500s, 29 victories in Formula, and the 1957 F1 World Championship.

Passenger Cars

In 1947, Maserati began manufacturing passenger cars, starting with the Maserati A6 grand tourer, followed by the 3500 GT 2+2 sports coupe in 1957, which introduced innovations such as twin-spark ignition, disc brakes, and fuel injection.
