Introduction

Vehicle Identification Number (V.I.N.)
The V.I.N. is stamped on the chassis and printed on a label inside the driver’s seat area. It comprises 17 characters, coded according to EEC and NHTSA directives.
Engine Number
The engine number is marked on the cylinder block and should be quoted with any vehicle enquiries.
Model History and Milestones
The manual includes a brief history of the Elise and Exige models, highlighting key changes and updates from 2004 onwards.
