Towing a Trailer
Before towing, ensure the trailer warning indicator lamp is functioning and the towing hitch is at the correct height. Always follow national towing regulations and never exceed the maximum weights for the vehicle or trailer.
Important Reminders
Only fit approved towing accessories, and do not use lashing points or vehicle recovery towing points to tow a trailer. When towing, do not exceed 100 km/h (60 mph) or 80 km/h (50 mph) if using the temporary spare wheel.
Tow Ball Dimensions
The tow ball dimensions are provided in both metric and imperial units for fixed tow ball and multi-height drop plate tow bar configurations.
Essential Towing Checks
Before towing, perform essential checks such as increasing rear tyre pressures, checking nose weight, and attaching a breakaway cable or secondary coupling.
