This manual provides guidelines for battery care and testing for Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles.
Quiescent Current Testing
Quiescent current testing is recommended to ensure the battery is not slowly being discharged by an electrical consumer after the vehicle’s shutdown period.
Two methods are provided for quiescent drain measurement: using a Land Rover or Jaguar approved diagnostic system with a current probe attachment, or using an ammeter.
The test should be performed with all electrical loads switched off and the ignition off.

Typical values for battery drain are provided for various Land Rover and Jaguar models.
