Brake Light Switch Function Check
This recall affects 2002-2005 model year Freelander vehicles in North America. The brake lights may remain illuminated even when the brake pedal is not depressed due to a maladjusted brake light switch.
Action: Inspect brake light function and replace the brake light switch if necessary. A temporary repair is authorized until the new specification replacement parts are available.
Affected Vehicles
VIN ranges: 2A353298 to 2A399999, 2A200003 to 4A299999, 4A400001 to 5A491300
A total of approximately 33,247 vehicles sold in the United States are involved in this Recall action.
