This guide provides procedures for emergency responders to follow when dealing with a Kia Soul EV at an emergency scene.
Identification and Safety Precautions
The Kia Soul EV can be identified by the “Eco electric” logo on the tailgate and front charge port door. Exercise caution and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid contact with the high voltage system within the vehicle.
The charging port is located on the front radiator grill with a sliding door and has two ports for AC normal charging and DC fast charging.
In case of emergency, the charging door can be opened by pressing the unlock door button, depressing the brake pedal, and applying the parking brake. If the charging door does not open due to battery discharge, open the hood and pull the emergency cable.
