Important Safety Information

Kia has developed a Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS) to detect early signs of excessive connecting rod bearing wear in certain engines.

This system will notify the driver via dashboard warning lights and place the vehicle into a reduced power mode if a knocking noise is detected.

Extended Warranty

Kia is extending the Powertrain Limited Warranty for 15 years or 150,000 miles for certain engine repairs.

The extended warranty covers all costs of inspections and repairs, including parts, labor, and diagnosis, for the engine short block assembly and long block assembly caused by a connecting rod bearing failure.

Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance is essential to obtaining the highest level of performance, safety, and reliability from your Kia.

You should routinely check your vehicle’s engine oil level and regularly replace the engine oil and oil filter.
