Issue:
The electrically deployable tow bar is not deploying, stowing, or experiencing partial operation.
Affected Models:
E-PACE, F-PACE, XE, XF (18MY onwards)
Cause:
Currently under investigation.
Action:
Reconfigure the existing tow bar module using Pathfinder and follow the steps outlined below:
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Connect Pathfinder to the vehicle and begin a new session file.
2. Select the ‘Service tab’ and ‘Add/remove tow bar’.
3. Follow the Pathfinder instructions to remove the tow bar from the vehicle.
4. Select the ‘ECU tab’ and ‘tow bar module’.
5. Select ‘Update software’ and follow the Pathfinder instructions.
6. If the software is up to date, continue with diagnosis using Pathfinder and the TOPIx Workshop Manual.
7. Select the ‘Service tab’ and ‘Add/remove tow bar’ again.
8. Follow the Pathfinder instructions to add the tow bar.
9. Disconnect Pathfinder and lock the vehicle using the key remote.
10. Allow the vehicle to enter sleep mode for 10 minutes.
11. Unlock the vehicle and check for correct functionality of the tow bar.
If the tow bar is not functioning correctly, continue with diagnosis using Pathfinder and the TOPIx Workshop Manual.
