Internal Battery Replacement

This information sheet provides guidance on replacing the internal Nickel-Cadmium batteries in the Central Door Locking (CDL) and Anti-theft Alarm Control Module for Rolls-Royce and Bentley models from 1994 onwards.

Symptoms and Testing

A symptom of internal battery failure is the emission of a four-beep error code when the alarm system is armed. A test procedure is outlined to check the condition of the batteries.

Replacement Procedure

The replacement procedure involves removing the Alarm Control Module, withdrawing the printed circuit boards, and replacing the faulty battery. The module should then be reassembled and the system fully tested.

Battery Specification

The CDL/Alarm Control Module contains two Nickel-Cadmium batteries, one 6 Volt 280 mAh and one 4.8 Volt 280 mAh, manufactured by Varta Battery or Yuasa Battery.
