The purpose of this Technical Service Bulletin is to inform dealers of a service campaign for certain 20-21MY Accent HC vehicles equipped with an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The campaign involves updating the Transmission Control Unit (TCU) software and, if necessary, replacing the IVT to resolve an issue with an illuminated warning light due to Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) P0730, P0731, P0741, P0867, and P1603.
Service Procedure
The service procedure involves several steps, including checking DTCs, updating the TCU, replacing the IVT, and performing IVT pressure learning and verification. The manual transmission relearn and verification procedure is a critical step to ensure the IVT has not been damaged.
Important Notes
It is essential to follow the service procedure carefully and to familiarize technicians with Section IV of the manual before starting the TCU update process. Additionally, if a part that is not covered by this campaign is found in need of replacement while performing Service Campaign T6J, a separate claim must be submitted. If the affected part is out of warranty, a Prior Approval Request for goodwill consideration must be submitted prior to performing the work.
