Introduction
The GMC Canyon owner manual provides an overview of the vehicle’s features and safety protocols. It is essential to read this manual and become familiar with the instrument panel cluster, which displays important information about the vehicle’s operation.
Instrument Panel Cluster
The cluster includes a tachometer, fuel gauge, engine coolant temperature gauge, speedometer, and driver information center (DIC). The DIC can display various messages and warnings, such as low brake fluid levels or engine temperature issues.
Driver Information Center (DIC)
The DIC is located on the instrument panel cluster and features a message center that displays information such as trip odometer readings, vehicle personalization features, and warnings. To select the DIC language, press and hold the reset stem until “LANGUAGE” is displayed.
Safety and Security
The vehicle’s safety features include safety belts, child comfort guides, and a brake pedal reminder. The safety belt reminder chime sounds for several seconds when the ignition key is turned to On or Start, and the light illuminates and flashes until the safety belt is buckled.
If equipped with OnStar, the vehicle owner can access diagnostic information and receive guidance on addressing any issues with the vehicle.
