This technical service bulletin supersedes TSB 22-2145 to increase the labor operation allowance for labor operations Q and R. The bulletin addresses a momentary transmission neutral-out condition in drive on certain 2018-2021 Ford Expedition/Navigator and 2020-2021 Ford Explorer/Aviator vehicles. The condition may cause the vehicle to have a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) POZE6 and/or POZE4 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) or transmission control module (TCM) and/or a possible audible noise.

Affected Vehicles:

2018-2021 Expedition/Navigator 1OR8O built on or before 29-Apr-2021

2020-2021 Explorer/Aviator 1OR8O MHT built on or before 14-Feb-2021

2020-2021 Explorer/Aviator 1OR6O built on or before 25-Jan-2021

The bulletin provides a service procedure to correct the condition, which includes inspecting the park system hardware for wear or damage and replacing the valve body separator plate with an improved valve body separator plate.

The parts needed for the repair include a valve body separator plate, output shaft retaining nut, front drive shaft boot, and park pawl.

Service Procedure:

1. Inspect the park system hardware for wear or damage.

2. Replace the valve body separator plate with an improved valve body separator plate.

3. Perform the other repair procedures as needed.
