The California Air Resources Board has issued an executive order for Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. for the 2021 model year. The order covers exhaust and evaporative emission control systems for passenger cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty vehicles.
Test Group Information
The Volkswagen vehicles fall under the TEST GROUP MVGAVO8, with a model year of 2021, and will be produced with a gasoline fuel type.
Exhaust and Evaporative Emission Standards
The executive order sets emission standards for NMOG+NOx, CO, NOx, HCHO, and PM for each vehicle type. The standards are listed in the Attachment.
Whole Vehicle Evaporative Emission Standards
The executive order also sets standards for whole vehicle evaporative testing, including relative leak diameters, for gasoline vehicles only.
Vehicle Models
The executive order lists several vehicle models, including the VW Chiron and Bugatti Pur Sport, with engine displacements ranging from 8.0L to 7.0L.
