Overview
This service bulletin involves greasing or replacing the manual transmission rear shifter bushing to address a clunk, squeak, or similar noise heard from the center console area while shifting.
Affected Models
Dodge Challenger models from 2009 to 2016, built on or before February 11, 2016, with a 5.7L, 6.1L, 6.2L, or 6.4L engine and Six Speed Manual Transmission.
Symptom/Condition
Customers may experience a clunk, squeak, or similar noise heard from the center console area while shifting.
Repair Procedure
The repair involves disconnecting the negative battery cable, removing the shifter bushing retaining nut, lifting the vehicle on a hoist, and supporting the transmission to access the rear shifter bushing. The bushing may need to be replaced or greased with Nye 880 lubricant.
