The purpose of this recall is to replace tires that do not meet the required load rating on about 180 vehicles. The incorrect load index can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

Repair Procedure

The repair procedure involves replacing the incorrect tires with tires that meet the required load index and updating the Owner’s Manual with the correct load index values.

Parts Information

Part Number TPR2859600, Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS Runflat Tire, is required for this recall.

Service Procedure

The service procedure involves inspecting all four tires to determine if they are 225/40-R19 89W Bridgestone tires, and then replacing them with tires that meet the required load index.

A special tool, NPN Tire Changer, is required to perform this repair.

The owner’s manual update involves updating page 264 of the owner manual with a decal as shown in Figure 1.

Completion Reporting and Reimbursement

Claims for vehicles that have been serviced must be submitted on the DealerCONNECT Claim Entry Screen. The labor operation numbers and time allowances for this recall are 22-Y8-31-81 and 22-Y8-31-82.
