Receiver Hitch Installation
This manual provides instructions for installing a receiver hitch on a CHEVROLET EXPRESS GMC SAVANA. The gross load capacity of the hitch is 16,000 lbs. trailer weight and 2,400 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight carrying hitch, and 17,000 lbs. trailer weight and 2,400 lbs. tongue weight when used as a weight distribution hitch.
Important Notes
Do not exceed the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended towing capacity. Tools required for installation include a ratchet, 3/4″ and 7/8″ socket, and a torque wrench.
The installation process involves attaching the hitch to the vehicle frame rails using fishwire and bolts. The hitch weight is 54 lbs., and the estimated installation time is 20 minutes for a professional and 40 minutes for a novice.
It is recommended to periodically check the hitch to ensure that all fasteners are tight and that all structural components are sound.
