The Cadillac CT6 PLUG-IN is a hybrid vehicle that delivers efficient performance with its powertrain combining a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, hybrid electric variable transmission, and lithium-ion high-voltage battery.
The vehicle operates in EV mode under light or moderate driving conditions for up to 31 miles, and the engine turns on to assist the high voltage battery under aggressive acceleration. The hybrid/EV electronics cooling system cools the power electronics components, and the high voltage battery is installed from beneath the vehicle into the rear storage compartment.
The vehicle is equipped with three fully independent cooling systems, including the hybrid/EV electronics cooling system, engine cooling system, and passenger compartment heating system. The 2.0L turbocharged engine produces 265 horsepower and 295 Ib.-ft of torque.
The vehicle also features an electric variable transmission, which includes an input shaft, three stationary and two rotating friction clutch assemblies, hydraulic pressurization and control system, and electric fluid pump. The transmission provides all-electric propulsion, electric variable hybrid transmission ratios, and fixed mechanical transmission ratios.
The charging system allows for three charging modes: Immediate, Delay Charge Based on Departure Time, and Delay Charge. The vehicle can be programmed to charge in three different settings, and the charging indicator shows the current state of the charging process.
The vehicle also features Regen-on-Demand, which enables the driver to control energy regeneration using the steering wheel paddles. The vehicle has several information displays that provide an overview of hybrid operation, including the Power Flow screen, Charging screens, and Energy Info screens.
