Important Pre-Installation Instructions
Before beginning the installation, ensure that all parts are accounted for by comparing the bill of materials with the received parts.
wear protective gear, including eye protection, when working under the vehicle.
Removal of Original Exhaust System
Remove hardware connecting muffler assemblies to the vehicle (Figs. 1-2) and straps attaching each muffler assembly to the chassis (Fig. 3).
Use a muffler stand or additional person to hold the muffler assembly, lower the rear section while lifting the front flanged sections over the axles.
Installation of Borla Performance Cat-Back TM Exhaust System
Orient components on the shop floor according to the Borla bill of materials drawing on page 2.
Install LH and RH Muffler Assemblies using original hardware and tightening bolts lightly.
Install muffler strap assemblies onto both muffler assemblies and tighten bolts lightly.
Tighten accuseal clamps 32-35 ft. lbs. (Figs. 11-12), check for proper clearance under the vehicle, and tip alignment.
Important Safety Notes
Use extreme caution during installation. Torque all fasteners according to manufacturer’s torque values and tightening sequence.
Do not use air impact tools to tighten fasteners on Borla Performance Exhaust Systems.
