Recall Campaign Overview
This recall campaign is initiated to fit an additional reinforcement plate to the body structure to improve the strength of the rear seat belt mounting on 5-seat Mulsanne vehicles built between January 2012 and September 2018.
Reason for Recall
The seat belt anchorages may not fulfill the load requirements if the rear center seat is occupied at the same time as an outer seat, posing a risk that the rear seat belt buckle may become detached from the body structure in the event of an impact accident.
Actions Required
Dealers are required to fit the additional reinforcement plate to the body structure, following the procedure detailed in the attached Bentley Technical Product Information (TPI) document.
New special tools, including an arbor and a cutter, will be provided to perform the installation.
