The following summary is based on the content of the first two pages of the Lotus automobile manual.

Headlamp Repair Procedure

Due to the delamination of the headlamp lens coating caused by ultra violet light damage or weathering, Lotus Cars has endorsed an aftermarket repair kit from HBC systems. This kit comprises a clear coat, activator, and catalyst solution, which is applied over the headlamp lens using a suitable body shop automotive spray gun, restoring the lens to its original appearance.

Repair Procedure

The repair procedure involves the following steps:

• Workshop removal of the headlamps
• Bodyshop refurbishment of the headlamp lens
• Headlamp refitment

The total estimated time for the repair is approximately 3 hours. Workshop labour costs are applicable, and a prior authorisation request is required for headlamp lens refurbishment.

Claims and Warranty

A claim should be submitted using the relevant labour operation codes, body shop sublet invoice, and parts sublet information as shown in the manual. The lead time for the repair and subsequent claims will be longer than that for headlamp replacement.

A maximum of 5 headlamps can be repaired using one kit, and the sublet cost of a kit will not be accepted on consecutive claims, unless 6 months have elapsed from the date of purchase of the HBC headlamp clearcoat system.
