Ground Cable Modification for Automatic Transmission
This service bulletin addresses issues with the 6-speed automatic transmission in certain Aston Martin models, including the DB9, DBS, Virage, and Rapide (including ‘S’) from 13MY onwards.
Customers may experience problems such as warning messages, difficulty selecting gears, or unexpected gear changes.
Diagnostic and Repair Procedures
Technicians are instructed to connect the AMDS to the vehicle, check for fault codes, and perform voltage measurements on the PRND switches.
If specific fault codes are found, a workshop procedure is outlined to install a new ground wire connection from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to the Centre Console Module (CCM).
The procedure involves removing the PCM, checking harness ground points, and releasing various electrical connectors and cable ties.
