Fuel Filling Problem Solution
This service bulletin addresses a fuel filling problem in Aston Martin models DB9, DBS, Virage, and Vanquish Volante.
Causes of the Problem
The fuel tank manufacturing tolerances may cause the internal pipe to be too high, and the combination of tolerances may prevent the downward gradient between the filler neck and the tank.
The fuel filler neck has a reduction in diameter, which prevents gas escape when filling the fuel tank.
Solution
To correct this problem, follow the workshop procedure outlined in the service bulletin, which involves draining the fuel tank, measuring the distance from the center of the filling pipe to the bottom of the tank, and adjusting or replacing the fuel filler neck as necessary.
