Service Action Overview

This Service Action addresses two modifications required for the electrical connections on the V12 starter solenoid for certain Aston Martin models.

Modification 1: Replace the Nut Attaching the Battery Supply Cable

The nut attaching the battery positive cable to the solenoid may have a coating that can corrode, causing a poor connection. The procedure involves removing the nut, examining and cleaning the terminal and stud, and installing a new nut.

Modification 2: Examine and Repair the Signal Wire to the Solenoid

The signal wire to the solenoid coils may have an acute angle, which can cause insulation failure and increase the risk of a short circuit. The procedure involves examining the wire, removing and re-routing it if necessary, and applying self-amalgamating harness tape.

Important Safety Note: The engine and exhaust will be hot after operation and can cause injury. Let the engine and exhaust cool before performing the procedure.
