Before attempting this procedure, become familiar with the components and factory procedure by studying the workshop manual pages 24-116 through 24-118, 24-223 through 24-224, and 25-01, as well as the exploded diagrams of the various systems in your parts manual.
Take safety precautions when working with the fuel delivery system, and assume that removal of the intake manifold will require 5 to 20 hours.
Preparation
Ensure that foreign objects do not find their way into the engine cylinders, fuel injector engine inlets, Mass-Air Sensor housing, fuel rails, dampers, and fuel lines.
Take notes and label components, especially if you stray from the procedure to replace or repair other components in the vicinity of the intake.
Use masking tape and a marker to label the various things you disconnect, and carefully note the precise routing of hoses, vacuum lines, and electrical wires you disconnect.
