AcuraWatch Driver Support System

The AcuraWatch system employs two sensors: a radar sensor behind the front grille and a front sensor camera behind the rearview mirror.

Features of AcuraWatch include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Maintains a constant vehicle speed and following interval.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS): Provides steering input to keep the vehicle in its lane.
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) System: Alerts and assists when the vehicle is detected drifting out of its lane.
  • Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS): Assists in reducing collision severity.
  • Traffic Jam Assist: Adjusts speed and applies steering torque to maintain a set interval and lane position.

System Limitations

Some driver assist systems cannot operate when:

  • The radar sensor or front sensor camera is obstructed.
  • The front windshield is dirty or obstructed.
  • The camera temperature is too high.
