Refueling Your Acura
Use the proper fuel and refueling procedure to ensure the best performance and safety of your vehicle.
Recommended fuel type is unleaded gasoline of 91 octane or higher. Acura recommends TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline where available.
Do not use gasoline containing more than 15% ethanol, methanol, or MMT.
Follow the correct refueling procedure to avoid any issues:
Stop your vehicle with the service station pump on the left side of the vehicle in the rear.
Turn off the engine and unlock the driver’s door using the master door lock switch.
Press the area indicated by the arrow to release the fuel fill door.
Insert the filler nozzle slowly and fully, making sure it goes down along with the filler pipe.
Keep the filler nozzle level and wait for it to click off automatically when the tank is full.
After filling, wait about five seconds before removing the filler nozzle and shut the fuel fill door by hand.
WARNING: Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. Handle fuel only outdoors and wipe up spills immediately.
If refueling from a portable fuel container, use the provided funnel and follow the same procedure.
Do not insert the nozzle of a portable fuel container or any funnel other than the one provided with your vehicle, as it can damage the fuel system.
