Important Oil Usage Information
This bulletin provides guidance on the correct oil grade to use in 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel Engines in RAM 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 Pickup and Cab Chassis models from 2013 to 2023.
Correct Oil Grades:
In areas with ambient temperatures below 0°F (-18°C), use 5W-40 synthetic engine oil that meets US Material Standard MS-10902 and API CJ-4.
In warmer climates, use:
- 15W-40 engine oil for 2018 and older models.
- 10W-30 engine oil for 2019 and newer models.
Important: Do not use 15W-40 grade oil in 2019 or newer models, as it can cause engine damage.
Always refer to the owner’s manual for exact engine oil recommendations.
