Track Preparation for 2023 Camaro Models
The 2023 Camaro models, including the SS Coupe, Turbo ILE, V6 ILE, V8 ILE, ZLI Coupe, and ZLI ILE, have been built for track performance in sanctioned racing events.
New Vehicle Break-In
During the first 1,500 miles, follow specific driving behaviors to help with the life of the vehicle’s performance, including moderate speeds, avoiding hard cornering, and proper engine oil maintenance.
Seasoning the Brakes
Apply the brakes 25 times, starting at 60 mph to 30 mph, and then repeatedly apply the brakes from 60 mph to 15 mph to burnish the brake pads.
Adjusting the Four Corners and Vehicle Components
Adjust tire pressure and wheel alignment settings for optimized road course usage, and consider removing the front license plate bracket and water deflector for maximum airflow.
Checking Fluids
Regularly check engine oil, automatic transmission fluid, and brake fluid levels, and consider using high-performance brake fluid for track events.
Adjusting the Suspension
For Camaro ZLI with the 1LE Performance Package, adjust the front strut top mount and strut spring seat to optimize vehicle performance for the track event.
