Body Construction and High Strength Steel Content
The 2023 Integra model series features a next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, constructed with high-strength steel (HSS) and advanced high-strength steel, as well as an aluminum hood panel and front and rear bumper beams for weight reduction and improved fuel economy.
Steel parts are color-coded based on their tensile strength in megapascals (MPa), with high-strength steel (HSS) defined as any steel with a tensile strength of 340 MPa or higher, and ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS) defined as any steel with a tensile strength of 980 MPa or higher.
Aluminum Parts and Repairability
The aluminum hood may be repaired by body shops with dedicated aluminum repair facilities and tools.
Resin Composite Front Bulkhead
The front bulkhead assembly is constructed of resin composite material, improving engine compartment access during factory assembly and service. A damaged bulkhead must be replaced.
Laser Brazed Roof Panel
Laser brazed roof panels require a combination of welding, adhesives, and mechanical fasteners for replacement.
