The recall is due to a potential issue with the steering column control module (SCCM), which may prevent airbag deployment in certain crash events.
The repair involves verifying the SCCM Julian date using wiTech, and replacing the SCCM if it falls within a specific date range.
Dealers are required to perform this repair on all unsold vehicles before retail delivery and to schedule appointments with owners for this service.
Labor operation numbers and time allowances are provided for the repair.
