About the CAMRY Hybrid
The CAMRY Hybrid is a 4-door sedan that combines a gasoline engine and an electric motor for power, resulting in improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Hybrid Synergy Drive Operation
The vehicle operates in various driving modes, using one or both power sources depending on the conditions:
Light acceleration at low speeds: powered by the electric motor, with the gasoline engine shut off.
Normal driving: powered mainly by the gasoline engine, which also powers the generator to recharge the battery pack and drive the motor.
Full acceleration: powered by both the gasoline engine and the electric motor.
Deceleration: regenerates kinetic energy from the front wheels to produce electricity that recharges the battery pack.
Stopping: the gasoline engine and electric motor are off, but the vehicle remains on and operational.
