Summary
This technical service bulletin addresses an issue with the MT88 manual transmission in 2021-2023 Bronco vehicles, where a rotational scraping noise may occur when the transmission is in neutral, Ist or Znd gear with the clutch pedal released, particularly in cold temperatures.
The noise may diminish as the transmission warms up and is due to the Sth and 6th gear synchronizer rings. The bulletin provides a service procedure to correct the condition by replacing the synchronizer rings.
Parts and Labor Times
A list of required parts and labor times is provided, including exhaust flange nuts, hanger bracket bolts, and transmission to transfer case bolts. The labor time for the repair is 10.1 hours.
Please note that this bulletin supersedes TSB 22-2371 and updates the vehicle model years affected.
